    Some of you have expressed interest of getting out in the field in the spring. Let’s start a thread here to discuss. I would like to hit New York as well as Vermont between April and may. For those who want to and have the time available, let’s discuss getting out there together.

    I actually just got back from a local weekend trip, from what we came to call Moat Camp Alpha. The firepit was underwater, and base camp almost had an entirement moat. No action to report but this was an initial reconoitre.

    Was it on private property? I’m trying to do some web searching to see if there is a place where I can take the kids camping and do a little recon…They will think they are camping, but I know better! Any suggestions for an off the beaten path, public camping area that may fit my needs?
    In the future, if you would entertain the idea of taking a novice with you do some research, please keep me in mind.

    It was on public land with permits and the like. As for heading out remind me what state you’re in?

    I’m certainly open to it, my question is, is how far are you willing to travel? I get out throughout New England, and New York as a rule. Let me know..
