Just recently relocating to Florida. I am an artist, I worked for two local newspapers in upstate ny, and various other parttime jobs. I hiked, camped, fished and wandered through the woods and spent many wonderful hours in the forests of ny. What I saw that day will be with me forever, as well as my husband who was with me. I saw a creature that appeared more human than animal, and unlike any other animal I have ever seen in the northern woods..

Encounter::

Number of Witnesses: 2
Length of Observation: we stopped our vehicle and watched as the creature stepped into the
highway, turned to look in our direction and then slowly move off the other side of the road, about two minutes I would say. We drove up to the spot where it disappeared into the forest, but could see nothing of it after that. Animal Description: it was about 5 to 6 ft tall, had dark fur, long arms that hung down and swung as it stepped forward, it turned its whole upper body when it turned to look at our car. I told my husband that it looked like an ape, and that is about as close an animal that I could compare it to.
Aprox. Height: 5 to 6 ft
Head/Facial Description: ape like
as described above, we viewed this from our vehicle at a fairly close proximity. Close enough to know it was not a bear or any other animal that I have ever seen in the Adirondacks. It remained in our view for two minutes and then casually walked off into the woods, leaving us stunned and confused as to what it was that we had just seen. It walked upright, arms gently swinging at its sides, turning to look in our direction before going on its way back into the forest.

Priority Level::

Historical – Over 10 Years

Time and Place: Year: 1995 Month: November Time of Day: late afternoon County: New York Essex Conditions: Terrain Description: heavily wooded, tall dense forest.
