Some that were very close, and others that were off in the distance. The closer knocks were loud enough to wake me, sleeping in my vehicle in the small trail head parking lot. The knocks lasted for around one half hour, and had a wood on wood sound. At sunrise, I made a recording of a dawn chorus of birds, and then proceeded down the trail into the bog. While doing some bird watching, I heard something large crash through the trees at the base of the bog and go up the hill into the wooded area to the east. I walked out further on the boardwalk to get a view of the area and scanned with my binoculars, but saw nothing.
