I have seen some large bears, but this was larger than any bear that I have seen.It had a umped over type of posture and was covered with hair with the exception of it’s hands and face which we could see pretty well once the headlights were shined on it. Once we had the headlights on it, it held it’s hands up like the lights might have bothered it’s eyes, before it jumped over the side of the small bridge.
Aprox. Height: 6-7 feet with a humped over type of posture
Aprox. Weight: 3-4 hundred pounds, but this is an stimate because we were approximately 50-60 feet away.
Head/Facial Description: It had a large head (larger than a person) but it was dark and though we
could see some of it’s face we could not see it clearly. We did notice that at a certain position and for a split second we could see the reflection of it’s eyes, much like you would see eye reflection of a dog or cat.
Can Witness Provide a Sketch of Animal Seen?: No
Any Odor? If so, Description: No, we were not close enough to get any type of scent from it.
Wood Knocks Heard?: No
We were out drinking and sort of partying in an area that we often frequented. We came to the bridge that has bove been mentioned and as we approched, we noticed something moving in front of us. As we turned onto the bridge and our headlights shone toward the bridge, we saw it. It stood around 6-7 feet tall and was covered with hair. It seemed to turn and look at us but it did not look very long at all. It turned toward the right side of the bridge and just leaped up and over the side of the bridge like it was nothing. It stood on two legs but had sort of a humped over posture but seemed to be very agile and strong enough to make the leap over the side of the bridge. We did not see it again that night, but we did see it again at another time about two weeks later. We just assumed that the creek under the bridge is what has attracted it to that area. I had mentiones that we were out drinking, but in no way were we intozicated to the point that we both imagined what we saw.

Assigned Investigator:

Mike Humphrey

Investigator Notes::

No contact information provided, closed as inconclusive due to that.

Priority Level::

Historical – Over 10 Years

Time and Place: Year: 1975 Month: May Time of Day: It was definitely night time County: Tennessee Rutherford Conditions: Terrain Description: Wooded area with a creek and bridge present Lighting Conditions: Night time/Dark Nearest Town or Landmark: Smyrna, Tennessee Description of Encounter Area: A very wooded area w/ both a creek and a bridge Are […]

[42
