you would here it one minute then a pause then here it again behind us. large branches braking some grunting then stomping.eventually it stopped and we all stayed up completely scared.the next day our parents chalked it up as a moose. as a adult now with lots of woods time under my belt there was no way it was a moose.
this last fall i took my wife and kids to that area to show them the swamp at the base of that same
ridge.we hiked for maybe 45 mins when we got off the trail to cross a swampy area to get to a rocky
steep hillside.as we crossed my wife stops me and shushes me. we stop and clear as day we all hear a long whistle.my wife was freaked out so we turned around and got back on the trail.as we hiked out we looked over our shoulders all the way back to the car. this is all one area that is remote except for the hiking trails and snowmobiles.

Assigned Investigator:

Mike Humphrey

Priority Level::

Historical – Over 10 Years

Time and Place: 1994 Month: July Time of Day: night time County: Massachusetts Worcester Conditions: Terrain Description: hilly.rocky Lighting Conditions: clear night stars out Nearest Town or Landmark: Royalston Massachusetts Description of Encounter Area: deciduous forest. swamps streams rocky hillsides.trail from road leading uphill westerly.at top a field opens up descends steeply to a swampy […]

[21
