Number of Witnesses: Myself only
A series of wood knocks (single and double knocks). Some that were very close, and others that were off in the distance. The closer knocks were loud enough to wake me, sleeping in my vehicle in the small trail head parking lot. The knocks lasted for around one half hour, and had a wood on wood sound. At sunrise, I made a recording of a dawn chorus of birds, and then proceeded down the trail into the bog. While doing some bird watching, I heard something large crash through the trees at the base of the bog and go up the hill into the wooded area to the east. I walked out further on the boardwalk to get a view of the area and scanned with my binoculars, but saw nothing. Whatever it was, was gone

Any Odor? If so, Description: First a musky nasty smell – not like a dead animal but kind of like a we Vocalizations Heard?: About five times. Two when we were hearing rocks smack. It was just a light “whoooo”. One at girlfriend’s mom & dad’s house that was clear as day a big “whooooop”. This was at dusk. Her father said it was coy dogs and went in side. One or so was in clearyvill. It was a long “whooo” or two. The second was distant. It might of been an echo?
Wood Knocks Heard?: No
Recordings Made?: No
First a musky nasty smell – not like a dead animal but kind of like a wet… I don’t know. Then, a lot of rocks smacking together – different tones at different times. I don’t think they were wood smacks. This lasted about an hour. When we started up the timberjack, it stopped… but we started noticing things landing around us – mostly big acorns. There were no oaks around us. There were some up the hill where the noises were coming from. There was a cave on the site that we had seen days before. It had rocks arranged (small to big) in an orderly fashion a couple feet from the cave opening. This cave was not very big – maybe 10 feet deep by 3 foot wide and 5 foot tall. No tracks or scat seen anywhere. We were at this location for about a week before this stuff had happened. My boss’ mother owns and lives on the 125 acres. Just before this, there was a flood and 17 was shut down. Russell Brook Road had washed out the year before, so there was no short hike to mud pond. I and some other people heard whoops… but everyone said it was coy dogs. My mother lives in Grand Prairie, TX and I have herd lots of coys and have hunted them… They never sounded like what I heard here. I have seen one wolf there with my girlfriend and i swear it weighed 200 lbs. It was HUGE. I know NY says there aren’t any wolves or puma there, but every one has seen them dead or alive there. I tried to tell another group like you all,
but never heard back from them. One more thing… I asked my soon-to-be father-in-law what it was I saw and smelled. He said it was gasses leaking out of the hill and I heard coy dogs along with a rock slide. I DON’T THINK SO. I just want some insight in to this experience I had.

Vocalizations Heard?: The scream was loud so loud that a woman would have been screaming at the top of her lungs. I used the example of her being raped because that is the instance a woman would be that terrified. Then it ended in 4 to 5 short grunts. While bear hunting 2 of my friends and we were sitting around the campfire. At around 11:00 pm we heard a woman scream very loud as, if being raped. I was convinced it was a woman until the scream (without breaking) lasted for 10 seconds, then ended in a series of low pitched grunts. We went to the edge of our fire light with a lantern and I had a shotgun. We didn’t see anything or hear anything so my friends told me to move forward ahead and I promptly told them to go #!%&@ themselves. They told me I had the gun so I offered it to them were they in turn told me to go #?@!&* myself. Last year, at
Sharp Bridge state campground, my wife and I were awakened by a series of loud whoops lasting 15 minutes or so. They sounded exactly like the calls recorded on Monster Quest Ohio bigfoot episode.
Added by Witness 6/6/2012: Dennis Luzak 10/5/11 4:30 The sun finally began to rise above the
mountains when my brother stirred from the tent. He joined me next to the fire to fend off the morning chill. I handed him the shotgun in my lap and said, “Didn’t you hear that last night?” He smiled and looked at me like a parent who’s heard this one before and said, “What thing?” I was a true believer in the creature called Bigfoot that morning on the second day of my bear hunting trip to the Adirondack Mountains. The experience I endured that night took away all the uncertainty I had about an ape-like creature roaming the forest of North America. The encounter gave me something in return. It had heightened my senses whenever I stepped into the forest. I heard every snap of a twig and the rustle of every leaf. I saw every shadow and every movement in the forest. I could smell the earth, trees, lakes and streams more intensely. I felt the ground under my feet, the wind through the trees, and the warmth of the sun with a new appreciation. Two of my friends, my brother and I had made camp next to a shallow stream about a mile down its fast moving waters. The closest public road was about an hour away. While we set up camp, two female hikers hurried along the stream bank. It was getting to be late afternoon and they didn’t have much time to make it to the dead end road where we set off that morning. After a late supper, my brother decided to turn in for the night. He wanted an early start the next morning and advised me to do the same. My friends were there just to camp and the three of us had gone through a lot of pain and anguish to bring a case of beer along, so I decided to stay up with them. I could hear the stream gently splashing over the rocks behind me. The moon was full and bright, causing the stream and the trees that stood alongside it to shimmer in silver. The light from the fire barely penetrated the trees around us. It only cast a flickering yellow onto the trunks, branches, and
leaves of the closet trees. Then at about 11 o’clock a loud, high pitched scream of a woman shattered the serenity of the night. The woman seemed to be screaming in my ear it was so loud, but she had to be more than 40 yards away. As I peered into the black searching for movement, I thought of the hikers I seen earlier that afternoon, and I said to myself, “Someone’s being raped”. The scream didn’t stop; it kept the same blaring, unfaltering pitch. After about 12 seconds, I thought to myself, “Damn, she‘s got a set of lungs”. As the scream approached about 18 seconds, I realized this could not be a woman; no human has that much lung capacity. At the end of about 22 seconds, the scream broke into six low pitched grunts. My friends, wide-eyed from panic and the first visit to the Adirondacks, spun around and asked, “What was that?” To which I replied, “How should I know?” We stood there, silently scanning the black for any sign of the creature. As we made our way to the edge of the fire light, they both pushed me ahead and said, “Go see what that was.” I answered back with a polite “—- you!” Then there was another push on my back followed with “You have the gun.” Holding out the gun I offered, “Here, you take it, and you go first.” There were no takers. In the black all around us, there was silence. Not a living
thing made the slightest sound. We nervously sat back next to fire, our heads on swivels. None of us slept that night. Believing in something enriches a person’s mind and soul. Do you remember when you believed in Santa Claus? Remember how you felt running to the Christmas tree to dive into all the presents that had magically appeared while you slept? Remember how you felt when you were told Santa Claus wasn’t real? For me, Christmas had lost some of its mystery. I still don’t believe in Santa Claus (the person anyway), but I do believe in Bigfoot, and this has given me back the mystery I once lost as a child.

I was woken up in the middle of the night (had to pee) As I laid in bed deciding if I wanted to go or hold it out, I heard what sounded like a yell/scream. It was high and then medium pitched in sound lasting about 5-7 seconds. I heard it a second time, then a huffing or deep “whuoof” like a blowing at the end of the double scream. It sounded fairly close to the camp, maybe 50 yards or so, and right behind the outhouse. I decided to hold going to the bathroom till morning!

I was standing at kitchen sink washing dishes. Watching birds on feeder outside window. Window faces old abandoned rundown farm with multiple out buildings. Overgrowth is very thick just outside my property. Deer and bear path about 15-20 feet inside brush. All of a sudden there was a scream (for lack of a better word) like I have never heard before. I come from a family of hunters and did hunt myself years ago. We have always lived in this area and love the outdoors. My brother is a professional guide and oversees a private wildlife preserve with more than 6000 acres. they also harbor animals not native to this area such as elk and even had a mountain lion on property at one time. The only way I can describe the sound is that it sounded like a combination of a howl, a growl and a scream all in one, but what impressed me was the magnitude of the sound. It was HUGE and close. I have NEVER heard anything like it. I cannot shake the feeling it gave me. VERY unsettling. Such a big sound. I could see nothing in the brush lot in back of our large shed. My dog, a German Shorthair Pointer was going crazy and I was afraid she would go through the storm door. I ran and grabbed her and glanced out the door in time to see a flash of something going across the road and down over the bank. There is a wooded lot directly across the road from my house. This is where the animals cross to remain under cover as there
is a house on each side of the lot but the back of the lot opens into large woods. I could not see any shape to the animal just a flash of hair and color. It was large and tall. It was black/grey and very fast. It was gone from sight in a split second. I cannot impress how loud this was. My heart was pounding. I was so upset at what I heard I called my brother in law who owns the woods that borders the woods the animal went into and he was not at home. I was so moved by this that I needed to share it with someone. This probably sounds foolish getting so excited over a sound but even after 5 months I can still hear it. I went on line to try to find audios of animal sounds and have not found anything that even remotely sounds like what I heard. Also at this time (the days before and after), I was having a problem with my dog finding and rolling in feces that smelled human. My husband and I could not figure out or imagine where she would find raw human sewage. I know this sounds terrible but human feces smells totally different than animal feces. I remember saying that it was not hunting season for turkey or big game so I doubted that it would be a hunter that could not make it out of the woods. Again it was an extremely HUGE sound. I am sorry for taking up your time if you feel this is nothing.

Update: 8/08
Hi, I want to update you about what has taken place sinse we last talked. I am more convinced than ever that I heard and glimpsed a BF. I think it was about a year ago that I reported about. If these animals are migratory then that would perhaps explain what has been going on. About 3 weeks ago there were footprints along the road in the loose dirt. It looked like a human barefoot only larger and no arch. I saw these tracks for 3 days in a row in the same area where the animal I heard before crossed the road. I tried to take pictures with something to gauge the size in it. They did not come out very good. When I measured them they were approximately 15 and a half inches long. We were getting rain every day then so the tracks were washed away within a day. I did show them to my 16 yr. old grandson. Within a week of seeing these tracks my grandson heard some very loud sounds. When I questioned him he said it sounded like a growl and a scream at the same time. The next day my dog ran off again, something she hasn’t done in a couple of months, and came back covered in feces, and it smelled almost human again. That is what she did last year. Last night the windows were open in the kitchen and when I turned the lights off to go to bed I thought I heard what sounded like a series of grunts and growls all running together. I thought it was my imagination and went to bed. 2 hours later my grandson woke me up and said there was something crashing around outside the house and it was big. I got up and tried to see out but could see nothing. Now it may have been a bear or perhaps even deer as they can be quite noisy but I find it interesting that it is a year later. There is something else that I didn’t tell you because I wasn’t sure it was related, but last year when my dog was rolling in whatever feces it was, she was gone for about 4 hours. She has NEVER been gone that long. When she came home her collar was stretched out and all four of her canine teeth were broke off. She was lame and I was concerned about what could have happened to her. Everyone who lives here on the hill knows
my dog. From either driving by or walking by or the kids. When she was gone so long I searched for her and drove around and around the roads and had the neighbors watching for her so if she had been hit by a car I think I would have found out. Not only that we have worked with her continually trying to teach her not to go into the road, and she is very good about it. Some of the reports I have read about dogs having encounters with these creatures sound like it could have been. I hope I am not being foolish about this but it does make me wonder. There have been a couple of days this week when she doesn’t want to go outside and cowers, and this is VERY unusual as I usually have to coax her to come in. Again thank you for your time, and I hope I am not wasting your time with this.

Update 9/24/08: It has been very quiet lately. Last night (tuesday), my grandson woke me because
there were bangings, as he called it. It sounded very close and did not last very long. Only a few times but I haven’t heard any knockings in a long time and none this close. I can’t help but wonder,if perhaps it is something moving through the area. It would be very difficult for something to live in this area and not have more sightings. This area is hunted quite heavily for deer and turkey. My dog did come back the other day smelling VERY bad again so it does make me wonder if there is some activity, that is perhaps nomadic. I have been doing a lot of searching on line and reading and I find it very difficult to close my mind to the possibility of an animal that has yet to be discovered. I wish I had more news. Take care, Linda
Update: 1/09: I still don’t know what else it could have been that was out here that morning. Then last night I heard what you call vocalizations. Until then, I wasn’t sure that what I was hearing on line and television was the same thing I heard here, but there is no mistaking it now. I heard it late last night about 1 am. The sounds were just like the tapes I have listened to. The sounds were a ways off, but they were distinct. Everyone was in bed and I was the only one up and it was very quiet. I heard it from in the house with no windows or doors open. I did go out onto the porch and listen and it is amazing how far
the sound travels. Dated 1/6/09

I have communicated with this Witness a few times now and plan on doing a Field Investigation of this report, I have no doubt about the sincerity of the Witness in that she believes she saw something and is looking to figure WHAT that something was. Update 1/09: Timing til now has prevented a visit to this location, but the witness is very sincere, open to said visit and there does seem to be potential ongoing activity.

Animal Description: Just past a lake about 1/4 mile, we saw something climb up from the bank of the brook as we passed by in our car. It was about 5 ft. tall and completely covered in mud & leaves… so we really couldn’t tell if it was hairy, but the arms were too long to be a person. It walked hunched over a bit and the hands were just below the knees. It turned is head, looked at us and kept walking up over the bank and into the woods. I’m not very familiar with bigfoot (of course I have heard of them), but don’t know if they play in the mud nor am I familiar with their habits. Animal walked bi-pedal; hunched over a bit and the hands fell just below the knees.
Aprox. Height: aprox 5 feet
We had driven to the end of a dirt road in Thurman and turned around to come back… it’s a dead end road. Somehow we ended up driving over a mountain with a brook that follows along side the road and driving slow because its an old dirt road and secluded. After getting home and checking a map, I believe we were on [location omitted]. At the top of this mountain is a large lake.

we were camping with no vehicle on the top of a mountain in a very large wooded reforestation area in Schoharie county, NY. After dark we heard a large animal circling our camp just out of sight in very thick and dark woods. It started hitting trees with something as it walked around our camp almost like it was trying to scare us off. This continued for many hours until a large storm came in with lightning and thunder and heavy rain around midnight. Dispite the fact we were armed and had multiple fires burning the animal continued to circle the camp. From the noise of the trees being hit and the walking noise we could tell the creature was very large and strong. This was the second time I heard something strange in the area but this time it was close by and very unnerving. User never returned contacted, stated wanted to be anonymous

Terrain Description: I lived in the small town of Cortland NY. I actually saw the
creature in my front yard crouched behind 6 or 7 foot shrubs which was right next to my porch. My
house was located on a small dark street which is a 5 minute walk to a dense forest of rolling hills that stretch for at least 30 miles or more(with the exception of a few country roads dividing them).
Lighting Conditions: My porch light was on and 1 street light about 50 to 75 feet away from my
house.
Nearest Town or Landmark: Cortland NY
Description of Encounter Area: It was about 11:00pm on a summer night. I was playing games on
my front porch with my younger brother and best friend at the time. I looked up at the bushes and
noticed they were moving and thought it was my cat crawling in them. I got up and looked over the
ledge of the porch calling my cat and saw what I thought to be a “wild man” crouched on its hands and  knees. It had reddish brown hair and because of the porch light I could clearly see the almost human like back and arms with a cone shaped head. It turned its head towards me and I noticed the eyes had almost a red reflection to them probably from the light. I ran inside as it put its hand on the ledge of my porch. the hand looked like a big version of a human hand with hair all over it and grungy long nails that made my hair stand up. My friend and brother saw the hand and screamed and ran inside about 2 or 3 seconds after I saw it. We had told my grandmother that we saw a man with hair all over his body but she didnt believe us. She said it was probably someone in a gorilla suit trying to scare us.
