It was october 25th 1995. Myself and three other friends were driving back to Delhi from Oneonta. We took the mountain road as it is a short cut between the two towns. It was about 6pm and we were driving around a sharp bend in the road when my friend who was driving literally slammed on the brakes. We saw a very large hairy creature sitting on a large rock. It looked like it had been eating tree roots. When he heard the car he stood straight up and proceed to cross the road in front of the car, about 10 feet away. It only took about 1 and a half strides for it to get across. As it was crossing it turned for a moment to look at us and grunted. It proceed down a very steep/deep ravine and disapeared into the trees.

Conditions:

Terrain Description: About 1 to 1-1/2 mile canoe paddle in then about 2/3 of a mile
down the lake.. When you paddle in, it’s surrounded by a marsh / old boggy, swampy area – swamp on far end of lake as well. Secluded surrounded by mountains all the way around.

struck me as a perfect habitat for abundant game – both large and small – swamps, marshes, hemlocks and many pines and pine cones – so there are plenty of pine nuts, some oaks and old beech stands.

Witness Overview:

Occupation/Background: NY Dept. of Tax and Finance

Encounter::

Number of Witnesses: Two in our camp and two across the lake – they heard the
splash
Length of Observation: Heard huge splaaaaash (not kerplunk) and not a tree… too big to be a beaver tail. We immediatly grabbed our lights and scanned the lake as did the pair of people across the lake. Neither of us saw what made the sound and, stranger than that, there were no ripples on the water anywhere. A while after that, my girlfriend of twenty plus years, went to releive herself and heard very heavy footsteps coming from behind where our tent was and they stopped when we shined our lights in the woods. Well, we went to bed around 12-12:30 am. Something came into our camp walking very heavy on two feet and woke her up. She, in turn, woke me up at which point I grabbed my 12 gauge shot gun and she the light, opened the tent and she shone the light around the camp and we saw nothing. Threw more wood on the fire and laid back down. 20-30 minutes later it came back. This time I worked the action on my 12 gauge and said out loud “I WILL SHOOT YOU!!” Then, we went to look outside the tent again – still saw no eyes or animals. The third time it came back I went out of the tent and stayed out for a while trying to use my ears to locate the animal’s movement and it was silent for a very long time. I think it knew what I was doing – maybe watching us! Finally, I grew tired and went to bed. The “animal” did not touch our food, as it would have been easy for a bear or raccoon to move the rocks I had piled on our small cooler – it was undisturbed, as was our dry goods and garbage tripple bagged and hanging like 12-15 ft in a tree over a thin branch. The other pair of campers left at first light. We never got to talk to them except to ask what that huge splash was to which they replied “I dont know.”
Animal Description: No visual contact
Aprox. Height: n/a
Aprox. Weight: Very heavy footed. Felt the vibration in our tent through our sleeping bags no foam –
just a thin ground cloth
Head/Facial Description: n/a
Any Odor? If so, Description: None noticed as whatever it was was down wind of us
Vocalizations Heard?: Not in this encounter but had another like five miles from there as the crow
flies. Northwest of this location with 2 witnesses present.
Wood Knocks Heard?: No
Recordings Made?: No
My girlfriend and I were hellbent on going canoeing into this spot, even though it was raining profusely. She never gets much time off and we had a baby sitter for our dogs. We went anyway, even though all of the people that were supposed to go canceled on the count of the rain.
We paddled in and looked at the first site and saw what looked to be bear tracks in the mud very deep. I sunk in up to my shins as i got closer to examine the tracks, which i found very strange, as like 10-15 yards away there was a much easier way into the lake. I rinsed off my legs there. As we walked up the path to this spot, we were both spooked out like something was not right. We went down the lake and checked other sites till we found one that felt comfortable to us. We set up camp and then went in search of wood and brought our fishing poles with us caught one nice bass which I took pics of then let go at camp. While at other sites, we noticed no wildlife present – no squirrels, birds, chipmunks… nada! We got back to camp and got fire going, but the wood that we found was like 20-28 inches around so I had to use a small hatchet to whittle away at it; using a bigger peice to hit the back of the hatchet head to drive it through the wood. Did this for several hours. First night, nothing but a mouse that came up begging like a dog as we ate. I held him there with my shoe then let him go – couldn’t squish him. The next day a family walked around the lake via a path that goes all the way around. Then, just before dark, a couple came in and camped accross the lake from us setting up just before dark. We cooked dinner and just got our dishes cleaned up and evrything put up and away, when my girlfriend went to relive herself and came back startled and said “Theres something big walking around back there, breaking big branches.” I said, “Quit being a wussie!” I stopped cutting wood and turned the radio down and heard something pretty big moving around and dissmissed it. A little while later we heard this huge
SPLAAAASH!! We grabbed our lights and already had the shotgun out and immediatly scanned the lake in the direction the splash came from as did the other 2 people accross the lake. We saw no ripples and no sign of what made the splash. I yelled accross the lake, “What was that?” They replied, “I don’t know.” We stayed up for a while and then went to bed around 12-12:30am. My girl woke me up saying that there was something in our camp, terrified. I whispered, “You shine the light. I got the gun.” We opened the tent and she shined the light out behind us and all around and saw no eyes, animal – nothing. I threw more wood on the fire we went back in the tent. About 20-30 minutes later, it came back. I got up and we did the same thing, except I worked the action on the shotgun and said “I WILL SHOOT YOU” but not loud enough to startle the folks accross the lake. I remember that I said that so that if it was a man, he would know I wasn’t joking. We, again, saw nothing. I stoked up the fire and sat there with my light and gun across my lap for about an hour, trying to use my ears to locate any movement but felt like I was being watched or that it knew what I was up to. I finally went to bed around 4 am.
I don’t think it was after our food, as our coolers were by the canoe, covered only by a few good sized rocks that might have kept a raccoon out but not a bear. Our dry goods and garbage and a lot of other peoples’ garbage were hung over a 2 inch branch 12-15 ft off the ground. The folks from across the lake left earlier than I got up. We didn’t get to talk to them. We will go back but with more people next time!!
5/6/11 – Sent witness follow-up email requesting interview and provided him with PDF copy of his report.
5/11/11 – Witness responded via email. He had a few errors/revisions he wanted corrected in report and advised he has some site photos that warrant a look. Shots of loons on the pond next to their campsite. Shots show something moving from frame to frame across pond in background – something he did not notice at time of pictures. Awaiting email for hi-res images to review and then will call witness for interview.

5/12/11 – Witness sent hi-res image of camping area (attached) and indicated that he believes
there is something in the bushes to the right of the tree with the trail marker on it – but that one needs to zoom in to see it. I do not see anything definitive there. Also, witness indicated he has more hi-res photos he will send. I responded asking him to send the additional photos and that I would call him after I have reviewed them all for interview/follow-up.

6/18/11 – Have yet to receive additional photo images so I emailed witness again inquiring about them.

6/22/11 – Witness emailed me another 10 images of
the campsite and adjacent pond. I have attached images to report. Also, witness states he believes the lake and campsite are on Good Luck Lake and that this lake is near Powley Place in Hamilton county – but he needs to check with his roomate to verify

i was on top of my gazebo making some repairs when all of the sudden i hear twigs and branches
snapping behind me at the tree line approx. 50 ft. away. i turn around thinking i would see a dog or
possibly one of the coons that knock over my garbage cans. instead i see a gigantic dirty brown
creature about 7-8 ft. tall walking towards me. i was frightened to the point that it felt like time stopped.
once i collected myself i was able to get a picture of it with my phone. we both just stood there for a
while perfectly still. after about 15 minutes it just retreated back into the woods and it continued to
almost patrol the tree line for another 30 mins or so. i have not seen it since.

At the time this occurred my parents lived in the town of Northville. I was heading home for
Thanksgiving and was coming back a bit late due to work. I took a back road that I love because it is a beautiful drive through the country-side and is a neat road with an old fashioned stone wall that runs along it. This road is a great way to get to Lake George from Northville. Basically the path less taken. I knew there was a pull off and since I had to make a quick pit stop, I decided to do my business at this spot as long as nobody was there. I wasn’t too worried as there is hardly any traffic on this back road. I pulled my car over and stood facing down the hill taking a piss. As I was sitting there doing my business, all of the sudden I heard the most horrendous sound I’ve ever heard. It started off as a low growl and built up to an inhuman shriek. As the shriek ended, all of the sudden i heard something huge crashing through the bushes and coming up the hill at me at a pretty good speed. I didn’t wait around to see what the hell was coming up the hill. I zipped up in record speed, got in my car and drove off as fast as I could put the keys in the ignition.
I asked game wardens what could make a sound like what I heard and they told me that a Bobcat can make this sound. Whatever was coming up the hill sounded bigger and heavier than a Bobcat and from what I know of that animal, it’s not one to come at someone (unless it’s rabid). I wish I had the presence of mind to stick around and see what the heck that was, but I guess I’ll never know. I think it’s very interesting though that the recordings I’ve heard of Bigfoot vocalizations sound very much like what I’ve heard. Hard to believe one is in NYS though.

I was hiking up white face mountain, i had seen a show about big foot on the history channel so when i started the hike i said to myself wouldnt it be funny oif i saw big foot jokingly. About a half hour into the hike i heard a wood knock . I got scared and pulled my knife out because i saw the show and know what a wood knock sounds like. I squatted down for about 3 minuites then keep hiking. About 5 minutes later i heard another wood knock and there was a response that came almost immediatley from the other side of the trail. At that point i knew there was something or somethings there so i pulled my gun and held it for the next half hour. About 3 hours later i must have been about 3,000 and change feet up the mountain i saw tracks. They were way too big to be a bear or a deer. There were what looked like a bear tracks and then a huge track right next to it that was way too big to be any aminal native to that area.

Nearest Town or Landmark: Long Island State Pine Barrens Preserve
Description of Encounter Area: At the base bewteen two small hills along a trail which besides
myself, not many people use. Are There Food and/or Water Sources in the Area? (if so, describe): Yes, there are many Deer, Fox, Birds, Squirels, stray cats (if a sasquatch was to be hungry enough i guess), rabbits, as well as plenty of vegetation, as far was water, there are plenty of remote lakes in the Pine Barrens which can be found using “Googlemaps” however my theory as to why this particular sasquatch was so far from the Pine Barrens is that just northwest of the sighting, there is a “kettlehole”, which in a nutshell is pretty much a lake carved out by a glacier. since it is remote and pretty well hidden, it could have provided an incentive for the creature to either have a simple drink or catch prey which was trying to drink.

ok, i was on my way to my friends house, and decided on such a beautiful day to cut through the woods behind my house, i was no further then a quater mile and had just decended the first of two hills, when i heard leaves crackling. i then turned and at first didnt realize what i saw until i quickly looked again and saw a huge upright creature on two legs, it was breathing heavy and was scouting the area and was not leaning or hanging on but simply holding a tree which was probably t least 6 inches in diameter and it was able to fit its entire hand around it. i stared and examined the creature for a good 30 seconds before it turnned and noticed me to, it was at this point we made eye contact. it seemed to have no facial expression. it then stood as tall as it could and stuck out its chest and continued to stare. it was at this point that i ran as fast as i could all the way to my friends house………….In addition to this sighint many years ago, latley me, my mom, and my little sisters have been making fires outside and sometimes when im siting by the fire i can hear something moving in the brush, or distant wood knocking. the most recent occourance of something b ing out there, i had made a fire and was almost driffitng off to sleep when i was awoken to something moving in the brush i could tell it was big because it made more noise then a human in the brush, and everytime i shined the flashlight it would quickly scurry back beyond my sight range. and as on this occasion i did not get a glymps of the creature, i am positive it was there. i have found many foot prints before, and have no idea how to cast them though, i
am nearly petrified to walk around my house and i dont know what to do anymore.

Myself and a friend were fishing on the wall at lock 9 in smiths basin at aproximatly 2: am we heard a noise down the oposite shore of the canal a long distance away, at first we thought it was some kind of cat or a girl screaming. We then noticed it was coming closer at a rapid pace along the bank in the brush . It stopped across the water from us and continued to make loud screams and started to shake trees violently. This went on for about 10 to 15 min. it then went up the bank to the parking lot of the lock still making the loud vocal sounds it then moved down the lock property to our left side . We then heard it cross the lock bridge by the sound of the grates of the bridge it only took 2 steps to cross. At this time it then was in the brush at the top of the hill just above us only 50 feet away it then started shaking the brush and trees and started screaming again. We yelled incase it was someone playing a prank but it continued for about another 10 min. it then ran down the bank and crossed wood creek in one splash whitch indicates only one step over to the other bank screamed and shook the brush and trees for about another 5 min then ran off. We havent told only a few people because of the reaction we got in disbelief from the people
told so we left it alone.
