Sleeping out in a tent. Awoke to sounds of rocks hitting, sounds of heavy foot steps walking in a barn, heavy breathing around my tent, something running its a hand along the top tent, something pushing on the tent. I was 11/12 at the time and honestly remember being to scared to breath at the time thinking whatever it was would hear me..

The night before we found the tracks I had gone out to take my girlfriend’s brother home. We heard
something in the trees. I turned on the headlights of the car and shone them into the woods but we
couldn’t see anything. When I returned home, my girlfriend had told me that through the open window in the bedroom she had heard something running back and forth in the woods for quite sometime while we were gone and that it scared her. The next day, I went out back and found what looked like two footprints pressed into the ground not even 100 ft. into the woods behind our house. The fact that my own footprints would not make any impressions in the ground made me feel like whatever it was was rather large, and the fact that I could make out the toes on the end of the foot which was thin at one end and wide at the other made me really creeped out. I looked for impressions of claws but found none. I had nothing to take any casts of the prints, but I did take photos of the prints.

The only reason I’m even submitting this report to you is because of the chance happening that I was
watching a show on the History Channel about Bigfoot. The chance happening is when I checked the
information displayed about the program to see if I had ever seen the program before (Directv usuallytells me when the show was originally aired). When I checked the information, I read the little biographyabout the show and at the end of this little biography it said, “sounds like a woman screaming”. Immediately, a chill went over my spine and I flashed back to the time I had spent in the campgrounds that summer. I couldn’t get to my computer quick enough to send you this report. I need someone to contact me if possible, please, to clarify a little more of what is meant by, “sounds like a woman screaming”? Here is all that I can tell you about what happened to me. This was around late spring of 2000. A friend of mine and I were staying in White’s Beach camping area located in Durham, Maine while we were looking for a place to live. One night, around 10:00 or 11:00pm I was laying in my tent when I heard a screaming noise outside my tent. If I was told that I had to describe this noise as accurately as possible because my life depended on it, this is what I would say (I hope no one takes an offense to this, but this is as accurate as I can get): It sounded just like a woman screaming from being raped or some other ungodly pain she was experiencing. The scream lasted for about 4-7 seconds. It was so loud and sounded so close that I would swear it was no more 100 feet away from me. The first night it happened, I heard the scream twice, but I can’t remember how much time passed in between the screams. The next day, I asked my friend (who was using a small camper) if he had heard the noise. He told me he was asleep and didn’t hear anything. I described the noise to him and he just shrugged it off with a little laugh. I saw the owner of the campground later that day and asked her if she knew what it could be and said it was probably a fisher, but she couldn’t be sure. A couple of nights later, I heard the same exact noise again. This time I only heard it once. This time I kept the incident to myself because of my friend laughing it off before as maybe someone having a rough night. If it weren’t for the fact that I read the biography about that History Channel show, I probably never would have given it a second thought and would never have made this report. Like I stated before, when I read that, I was immediately flashed back to those nights in the campgrounds.

Added by user 6/6/2012: No, that was it.just the vocals. From what I can remember, it was around 10:00 at night. I was just lying down to go to sleep in a tent in a campground in Durham, Maine. We were pretty much the only ones in the campgrounds, because it was so early in the year (still very cool outside for camping). We were alone in the section we were camped in, so there wasn’t anyone else around us and this noise was very close. I would say it was no more than 500 feet away. It has been a very long time since I left my message on the NESRA site, so I don’t remember exactly how much information I gave in my report. Let me know if you want me to give you some more.

We were watching tv and had the window open behind us. We heard a noise, not sure what it was, my husband went out to check. It sounded like someone walking around the backyard. When my husband got in the backyard, he heard something walking towards him. He had a flashlight, but could see nothing. Then we heard this noise. It was like nothing any of us have ever heard before. It was kind of like a scream, but a controlled scream. It was almost ghostly. It made the hair on the back of your head stand up. My husband could hear it coming towards him, but could not see it, even with the flashlight. He came back in the house. We listened at the window for a while, and it just faded away, like it was moving away. None of us ever forgot it.

I was with a couple friends who owned a camp in Kezarfalls and across the street lived two native
americans, Curtis and Howard. Any old locals could tell you that they were true Indians! Anyway it was morning and the snow was roughly 3ft. We always stopped to check on them prior to going across the road to the camp. Anyway Curtis would always feed the animals in the early morning hours. This one morning he was gathering food for the animals when he heard what sounded like a child crying outside. He went to the door and opened it to find a tall black creature standing there. He said the creature screached then ran off. He slamed the door and was afraid of the “Thing” as he called it. He told his brother Howard who told us he was really afraid of what he saw. These are two old indians who grew up on that road all their lives. They are deceased now but were in their right frame of mind at the time. We did follow the footprints across the road going through the camp we were staying at and through the back up until we reached a mountain then we stopped. Roughly 1 mile behind the camp.

Spoke to the Witness via the phone on 4/20/09 for about 30 minutes. Seemed sincere and recalled some additional details to the situation. – Guy used to make vocals and get responses; thought it was a bear at the time. – mentioned a house at the beginning of the road where people were moving out frequently. They thought it was haunted but, two Native Americans living in the town thought it was something else. Witness recalled a time following 18 inch tracks for a mile near keaser falls, ME, and identical tracks on the opposite side of the lake. This occurred towards the end of winter. Relevant landmarks :

One icy morning on the way to work I went off the road with my pickup truck and got stuck. I was about 3 miles from work so I decided to walk the rest of the way. It was very dark, but there was still some oon light out. About 3/4 of a mile from work there is a long dirt road that led to the shop. You could see the shop light on by the building which illuminated the dirt road a little. Just enough for me to see where I was going. As I was walking I could see what appeared to a person walking the opposite direction and heading towards me. It was very dark, but I could tell there was someone there. I was not scared at all, but was curious who this was because it was 4 a.m.. Well, this figure was close enough so that I could hear his foot steps. Eventually we walked right by each other . It was on the other side of the road. All I could make out was his silhouette. Then after it was past me it walked to my side of the road and went straight into the woods. This freaked me out because I thought this was a person, now I’m thinking big foot. Lets just say that I ran the last half mile. What ever it was I never saw it again.
