mom was driving coming down maple street hill with me and my brother. could see this large creature coming off tow path road towards us as mom slowed down. mom stopped as it continued to come closer she turned the car around. went home and got dad, he had his 357 and we went back. odor was bad, there were large tracks and I remember him saying not a bear track. said he didn’t know what we saw but that we were not to go down tow path road without him. we had a camp in newcomb and was all around the adirondacks. never saw anything like this, have seen many bear and other animals but i’m still haunted by this. now live in texas and to this day I will not go outside at night without my dog and lights on (now 62). even writing this my skin crawls
