COMING OUT OF FOREST ON RIGHTHAND SIDE OF ROAD, IMMEDIATELY AFTER CAUSEWAY, APPROX. 25 FEET IN FRONT OF CAR, IN HEADLIGHTS, WAS APE. HE WAS TALL (about 6’3OR 4″), lean, not bulky. SHORT, REDDISH BROWN HAIR. LOPED ACROSS ONE-LANE ROAD, TURNED AND LOOKED AT ME (and husband in car). CONTINUED ACROSS ROAD, ACROSS FRONT YARD OF SMALL HOUSE ON OTHER SIDE–DOWN NARROW DIRT ROAD ALONGSIDE HOUSE, DISSAPPERAING INTO FOREST ON THAT SIDE OF THE POND.
WE WERE IN CAR WITH WINDOWS CLOSED. THIS IS A RURAL PART OF THE CITY–RIGHT ON THE BORDER WITH WOLCOTT, CT. THERE ARE FARMS IN WOLCOTT, NEARBY, BUT THE AREA IN WATERBURY IS MORE RESIDENTIAL.
