Nearest Town or Landmark: Town of Day, northern Saratoga County
Description of Encounter Area: Woke up to light a lantern for my son when he woke up, middle of
the night. Went outside to go to bathroom and heard a whoop. About 10-15 seconds later, another
whoop. Got very scared and went inside.
Are There Food and/or Water Sources in the Area? (if so, describe): Food inside our cabin, and
inside a cooler on front porch, porch screen door also locked. Swimming pond a few hundred yards away from cabin, not in sight of cabin. Heavily wooded.
Occupation/Background: Right now I’m a stay at home mom. Worked as a Veterinarian Assistant for 4 years prior.
Number of Witnesses: 0
Length of Observation: about 20 to 30 seconds
Animal Description: The noise I heard was nothing like I’ve ever heard before. It was not an owl, bear, deer, coyote or fox. I know what they all sound like and this was not an animal sound.
