Description of Incident
Norman Auger reports sometime in September 2012 that he had a brief encounter with what appeared to be a bigfoot type creature, crossing Rhode Island Rt 116 (East Rd.) from West to East near the intersection of Rt. 116, Old Scituate Avenue, and the Old Pipeline Rd in Scituate, RI. Norman, at around 11 p.m., was driving to work toward the Hope Jackson Fire Company on 117 Main St. located in Hope Rhode Island. While traveling on Rt 116 South, heading toward Rhode Island Rt 12 during the evening, his headlights just caught what appeared to be a large hairy figure leaping across the entire roadway from his left to the right (West to East) in front of him in just 3 bounds/steps. Norman estimated the individual was around 7 feet tall, dark and hairy. Norman proceeded to the Scituate Police Department to explain his encounter with the dispatcher. Norman was told by the dispatcher that he saw “Lil Rhodey” and that many similar reports had come in the past. Norman says he was relieved that he was not the only person to have witnessed this bigfoot like creature. Norman went on without personal further investigation.
